Favorite Jojo’s

I finally finished all that has been released of the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure anime . And I have to say that I absolutely loved it. I can’t seem to stop thinking about it, so I think I’m going to rank my thoughts about it organize them better.

Favorite “Jojo”

5. Jotaro Kujo

In the first episode, when Jotaro was introduced, I really hated him. He called his mother a bitch, disrespected his grandfather, and just seemed really stuck up. As the season continued, however, the kind-heartedness of his ancestors began to show and I eventually grew to be ok with him. Although he was the main character, I didn’t feel like I really knew much about him. He seemed a bit one-dimensional and almost Mary Sue-ish. I don’t hate him anymore, but he’s just an okay character to me; not great but not bad either.

4. Jonathan Joestar

Like Jotaro, Jonathan was also a bit one-dimensional and Mary Sue-ish. However, I really admired his noble spirit and passion. Jonathan is also just an ok character, but an ok character that is very honest and brave. Which is why I place him as Number 4.

3. Josuke Higashikata

Now this is where it starts getting into characters that I absolutely love. Josuke is so sweet and caring and kind. Yet, insult his hair, and you’re going to regret it. I loved how soft and humble he was, yet clever and full of life. He felt like a genuine kid I could come across at a middle or high school. One of my favorite episodes in Part 4 was when he, Okuyasu, and Shigechi were scheming on how to get rich. You could just see the pure innocence and joy on their faces. He’s like this mischievous but sweet little kid you can’t help but love.

2. Giorno Giovanna

Reserved yet extremely perceptive and analytical, a delinquent yet exceptionally knowledgeable and well-mannered, kind-hearted yet manipulative and morally lenient. Somehow this kid inherited Jonathan’s noble heart, passion, and ability to win people over as well as the tactical mind Joseph had also inherited from somewhere. All while still making these talents his own in order to help others. Whenever another character got into really deep trouble while he was around, they could always rely on him to step in and orchestrate their victory. The fact that he’s ranked number 2 even though he was barely in his own part just shows how badass he was every time he showed up.

1. Joseph Joestar

The one, the only, Joseph. From the first instant he was introduced, he stole every scene he was in. Clumsy and immature but still well-meaning and somehow lazily genius, this man managed to worm his way out of every mess he was in through the most insane amount of asspulls. And your next line will be “but doesn’t that also make him a Mary Sue-ish character too?” Yes, in a sense, but the way he handled everything was just so crazy and bizarre you just had to keep watching this beautiful mess of a man.
